How We Use Your Information
- Facilitating Service Marketplace Connections: Connecting Homeowners with matched Service Professionals based on requested categories, coverage radius (`serviceRadiusMiles`), and availability.
- SaaS Field Management & Dispatch: Enabling contractors to schedule jobs, track employee time clocks, calculate payroll estimates, and generate digital estimates/invoices.
- Verification & Fraud Prevention: Checking contractor license numbers, running fraud monitoring on billing events, and verifying platform review authenticity.
- Platform Communications: Sending vital transaction notifications, appointment reminders, quote updates, and password reset links via email or SMS.
Information Sharing & Third-Party Disclosures
We do not sell your personal information to third-party data brokers or marketing agencies. We only share information under the following essential operational circumstances:
Data Security & Retention
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures, including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 database encryption at rest, strict Firestore security rules (`firestore.rules`), and multi-factor authentication controls.
We retain personal data only for as long as your account remains active or as required by applicable tax, accounting, and state contractor record-keeping statutes. If you request account deletion, we purge all personally identifying information from our active databases within thirty (30) days, subject to mandatory statutory hold periods for completed financial transactions.
Your Privacy Rights & Choices (CCPA & GDPR)
Depending on your state or country of residence, you possess key rights regarding your personal data:
- Right to Access: You may request a comprehensive export of all personal data, property records, or quote histories associated with your account.
- Right to Rectification: You can update or correct profile information instantly via your account settings dashboard (`/homeowner/settings` or `/business/settings`).
- Right to Deletion ("Right to be Forgotten"): You may request permanent deletion of your BrightGrid account and personal profile at any time.
